PINNACLE of the Ida Bhatara Turun Kabeh ritual or Ngusaba Kedasa in Penataran Agung Temple of Besakih took place last Tuesday (Mar 26). Ten high priests simultaneously officiated over the ritual. Hindu devotees still get a chance to say prayers during the ritual, in which the deities are still abiding in grand congregation for 21 days and their sanctified effigies will be escorted to go back to their respective abode on Tuesday afternoon (Apr 16).

It was mentioned by one of the temple priests in the courtyard of Besakih Temple, Jero Mangku Suyasa, Thursday (Mar 28). Mangku Suyasa also suggested in order Hindu devotees could make their time worship to Besakih. However, it should be chosen the appropriate time to avoid the crowd so that the worship could take place solemnly. He said that people usually jostled to come by the closing time or on holidays. Prime time of the devotees to worship usually took place around 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Meanwhile, at late afternoon or early evening was quieter.
Mangku Suyasa delivered that at the pinnacle of ritual at least 10 priests jointly led the ritual. Those officiating over the ritual in the elephant pavilion consisted of Ida Mpu Dukuh, Ida Mpu Pande, Ida Pedanda Putu Ngenjung from Griya Selat Duda (Karangasem), Ida Pedanda Gde Nyoman Djelantik Dwaja from Griya Budakeling, Ida Bhagawan Nata Nawawangsa from Kedatuan, Belatungan (Tabanan), as well as the ritual committee of Ida Dalem Smaraputra from Klungkung Grand Palace.

Meanwhile, in the paselang pavilion, two priests led the ritual namely Ida Pedanda Gde Putra Abah from Griya Akah Klungkung, and Ida Pedanda Ketut Dwija Nugraha from Griya Demung, Budakeling. Worship at the pinnacle of ritual was followed by hundreds of pilgrims.
